East Africa Crisis Appeal - ITV Appeal with Eddie Redmayne
** The DEC launched its East Africa Crisis Appeal on 14th March 2017 with this broadcast following the ITV News **
Hunger on a massive scale is looming across East Africa, and people are already dying in South Sudan and Somalia. 16 million people are on the brink of starvation and in urgent need of food, water, and medical treatment. Women and children are suffering most – more than 800,000 children under five are severely malnourished. DEC member charities are reaching millions of people across the region with life-saving aid but much more needs to be done.
If we don’t act now, the situation will get much worse.

THE WORST AFRICAN CHARITY APPEAL VIDEO. EVER.
South Sudan is expected to experience one of the worst famines of all time in Africa. But because the situation there is not yet, technically, a famine according to United Nations rules, and rather a hunger "crisis", none of the western global media seems interested in leading with the story. At least that's what Ikenna Azuike thinks. Cue perhaps the worst African charity appeal video. Ever. Featuring What's Up Africa's favourite presidential strong man Skagame.
What's Up Africa is a video blog created and presented by Ikenna Azuike and filmed and edited by Sandesh Bhugaloo & Emmanuel Tenenbaum. Written by Ikenna Azuike, Mollie Balogun, Okechukwu Ofili with guest writers: Herve Kimenyi and Musa Okwonga. New episodes are published on Fridays.

West Africa food crisis appeal
http://www.christianaid.org.uk/westafrica
Christian Aid has launched an emergency appeal as more than 12 million people across five west African countries are in the midst of a severe food crisis.
Please donate today to save lives in west Africa.
Niger, Mali, Chad, Burkina Faso and Mauritania are all facing a chronic malnutrition crisis, and in many areas communities are surviving by eating wild roots and fruits and restricting themselves to one meal a day.
Christian Aid has already provided funds to finance an urgent early intervention programme in those countries where we have long-term partners and donating to our appeal will help continue extend the scope of this work.

Poaching, human encroachment and a thriving global trade in endangered animals have pushed many species and wild spaces to the brink of extinction. Behind the scenes, NGO’s, anti poaching units and passionate conservationists put their lives on their line to do everything they can to prevent that happening.
We have gone in search of the unsung heroes and projects in some of the most remote areas of Southern, Central and Eastern Africa to not only help them with their work on the ground, but to bring their stories to the global stage, with the hope of raising support and donations for their efforts. Such a journey has allowed us to share ideas, solutions and best practises in a bid to reduce human-wildlife conflict across Africa.
With that, we can provide a lens into the world of wildlife law enforcement, educating local communities, our global population and spreading the word about conservation in Africa.
Our expedition to date has been entirely self-funded and thus far we have been living off our savings.
We are reaching out to the global community to ask for financial support to allow us to continue our expedition; to keep us on the road and allow us to continue volunteering for the projects we find.
